AFTERNOON TEA AT THE ASTOR COURT (ST. REGIS NEW YORK)

I love tea and I love carbs. The only thing that can surpass my love for them is sipping tea and having a copious amount of unnecessary carbs simultaneously, aka, Afternoon Tea. With that very revealing intro about myself, I am back with another Afternoon Tea review in NYC!

The Astor Court is located in the St. Regis hotel in midtown Manhattan on 55th street, between 5th Ave and Park Ave. This is a prime location if you’re visiting NYC, as having afternoon tea at St. Regis gives you an excuse to rest your legs from all that walking you did from the MET down to the shops on 5th Ave, via Central Park.

There are two afternoon tea options at Astor Court: The Lady Astor Tea for $65 per person and Caroline’s Tea for $85 per person. The extra $20 for Caroline’s Tea is mainly for better sweets and savory finger snacks. In other words, there will be caviar. Like every afternoon tea place worth their salt, you add champagne to your experience for an additional cost. If you like classical music, they have a harpist performing for most days during afternoon tea hours.

I personally really enjoyed my experience at Astor Court. I wish our waiter had been more attentive, but I do believe it was just a one off experience and I have never read a bad review about this place. For $65 per person, it is definitely a great deal and you will leave feeling very full. My favorite part of the experience was definitely the clotted cream. Astor Court really knocked it out of the park with their soft and spreadable clotted cream that paired extremely well with their warm scones.
