In 1997, I went to Bali for the first time and drowned in our hotel’s pool. It was such a big event that it was the only thing I remembered from that trip. In efforts to override that memory, I persuaded my mom to go to Bali with me several weeks before work started. Now that I am 19 years older, I am sure I’ll remember this trip better than I did the 1997 trip. However, if for any weird reason (drowning in the pool part two?) I end up forgetting everything but one thing about this trip, it would be the great foods I ate. I tried my best taking pictures of everything I ate but most of the times I would find myself blaming myself for forgetting to take a picture halfway into the meal.
